We had 110mm of rain in the 24hrs that I shot this game to say that I was wet was an understatement. I recently invested in some ThinkTank Hydrophobia covers to keep my kit nice and dry and there’s been some times where they’ve done there job, but nothing like the rain I experienced on the weekend.

You know it’s a wet match when you have to dry you tele a couple of times, but to have to pull out the cloth 7 times over a 120min period is a drenching.

Aside from that, you can usually make some nice football photos in the rain and players are usually slipping and sliding all over the field.

This game presented a couple of opportunities, but a photo I really liked came from some emotion after the Central Coast Mariners had scored their 4th goal against the Melbourne Victory.

The look on Andrew Nabbout’s face says it all.
